Four months have passed since former premier Andrew Furey appointed John Hogan to be the 15th Premier.
Today, Hogan contacted the Lieutenant Governor, Joan Marie Aylward, to proceed with dissolving the Newfoundland & Labrador legislature.
The mandatory fixed election date is October 14.
The appointed Premier Hogan is seeking election and his competitors are NDP Jim Dinn, and PC Tony Wakeham.
The three candidates made door-knocking campaign promises at solving the provinces $19.4 billion debt.
Many Newfoundlanders are speculating the province is on the cusp of bankruptcy and it’s just a matter of time when that announcement is made from the whoever the newly elected premier.
Many Newfoundlanders are also speculating the provincial election will be rigged by the Liberals leaving Hogan in office as the 15th and 16th Premier.
