Local known activist, Dana Metcalfe, will be hosting a rally against violence at Harbour Side Park located on Harbour Drive in the downtown area of St. John’s this coming Sunday.
The rally will also be a vigil in memory of Charlie Kirk, who was a prominent conservative activist, an international speaker at colleges and universities where he would engage in intellectual discussions that would often become heated debates, often among those of the 2SLGBTQ+ and allied people.
Charlie Kirk, was seen as a prominent conservative activist, was shot and killed during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday past.
There has been outrage over the death of Kirk from his Christian followers, and celebration of his death from those among the 2SLGBTQ+ community on a global scale, including this province.
Tyler Joseph Hogan is one of the people in this province who made a comment on his Facebook page, stating “Not gonna lie, this single clip makes me glad he’s dead. He deserved what he got. What a fuckin’ bully.”

A Toronto school teacher at Corvette Junior Public School on Thursday past had shown a video of the very moment when Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck, and told the students that Kirk deserved to be murdered.
The grades 5 and 6 students told their parents about what their teacher showed and said about the incident in class.
The Toronto District School Board has confirmed that the teacher has been temporarily relieved of duties pending further investigation for education misconduct.

Members of Newfoundland’s Anti-Hate Coalition have also celebrated and cheered Kirks death on their Facebook page and also expressed hatred for Dana Metcalfe.
The Anti-Hate Coalition’s about section on their Facebook page states, “The Anti-Hate Coalition NL condemns harassment (including cyberbullying), violence, and crime motivated by prejudice based upon race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, social caste or physical condition. Though we share a similar goal, we are not associated with the Canadian Anti-Hate Network. Nor are we paid by any private or public body for exposing or protesting against hate in NL.”
There are a number of photos, and drawings that depict Metcalfe as a loon, a conspiracy theorist, along with other content that is considered to be a form of bullying.
The administrator has since removed majority of the defamatory comments in the post from the linked photo above.
According to Metcalfe, she has received numerous recent death-threats, suspicions arise to be from the 2SLGBTQ+ and their allies.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary have been notified of the recent threats but no leads have come to light as to who is actually making the alarming threats.
The 2SLGBTQ have a known ally and convicted criminal, Kenneth J. Power, a tattoo artist in Kelligrews. Power was convicted in 2018 for online harassment which he admitted to leaving Facebook and phone messages for a man power believed at the time for raping his friend, which Power pleaded not guilty to criminally harassing the man.

When Power made contact via Facebook messenger calling, he made threats saying that he would be responsible for many rest in peace dates. Power disconnected the Facebook call and blocked the journalist.
