A replica of the Stanley Cup will be showcased at the Galway Tim Hortons restaurant this coming Thursday at 5pm and will then be whisked away after its 3 hour showing at 8pm.
The location earned the showing of the cup by selling the most Tim Horton’s hockey cards than the other Tim Horton’s stores last year according to the district manager, Nicole Hall.
“We didn’t even know it was a contest until an email received from the corporate office over the summer saying we had won the Tim Horton’s franchise contest” says Hall.
The official Stanley Cup is the greatest trophy in sports history and therefore had to become the most protected trophy due to the official historical facts surrounding the beloved trophy and as to the reason why a replica will be arriving instead of the official trophy.

In 1957 the National Hockey League introduced the replica and has become the current Stanley Cup, not the official Stanley which resembles a stovepipe and stands at the same height as the current cup.
The Official cup has quite the history of events from unsuccessful attempted thefts, misplacements, including being kicked into a stream by a coach of a winning team who had lost his patience during a flat tire stop only to find the cup behind the seat where the spare tire should have been.
